  • Road Closures Due to Rainfall

    UPDATE: Bay View Lane and Zion Church Road have now been reopened. Operations staff will be completing grading this week. v

  • Zion Church Road Temporarily Closed

    UPDATE: Zion Church road has been graded, however due to the forecast rainfall and further grading work anticipated, this road remains closed until water recedes and further grading is complete.

  • Snow Clearing Update

    Our public works staff are taking advantage of the good weather to get ready for the freezing rain and wet snow forecast for the weekend. Areas with drainage issues have been inspected and cleared, and roadside trees trimmed to prevent fallen branches.

    Spring Coyote Activity

    Following several recent coyote sightings, the Township is reminding residents that coyotes are a natural part of the environment of Georgian Bluffs.

    “Coyotes are all around us throughout the year, but generally like to keep their distance from their human neighbours,” says Niall Lobley, the Director of Community Services with the Township.

  • Church Sideroad Bridge Closed Until Further Notice

    The Township of Georgian Bluffs has closed Church Sideroad bridge (on Church Sideroad West at Sarawak Keppel Townline), effective immediately and until further notice.

    The Township has identified deterioration of the bridge abutments and wing walls, and have closed the bridge due to safety concerns. The bridge will be reviewed by a structural engineer to provide further direction.

  • Significant Weather Event Declared

    A Significant Weather Event has been declared in the Township of Georgian Bluffs for February 23, 2023 due to forecast weather conditions. It remains in effect until further notice.

  • Half Load Restrictions in Effect Monday

    Half Load restrictions are in effect on Georgian Bluffs roads as of Monday February 20, 2023 for the spring season. This restriction will be in place until May 1, 2023.

  • New Price for Bag Tags as of March First

    Bag Tags for Georgian Bluffs will be $2.25 each as of March 1, 2023 following Council’s approval of the 2023 Fees and Charges.

    “The fees collected from Bag Tags are used to offset the costs of the curbside garbage collection program, which we expect to be more than $500,000 in 2023”, said Director of Community Services Niall Lobley.

  • First Tax Installment Due February 24, 2023

    As the due date for the first installment of the 2023 Interim Tax Bill approaches on February 24, remember there are many ways to pay your tax bill.

    Internet/telephone banking: Most financial institutions offer "Township Georgian Bluffs" as a payee. Please make payments 2-3 days in advance to ensure they are received by the due date.

  • Kemble Arena Renovation Delayed as Township Explores Options for the Project

    At the Council meeting on Wednesday, February 8, Georgian Bluffs Council approved deferring the renovation for the Kemble Community Centre after receiving an updated cost estimate for the project.

    In 2019 the Township received a grant from the Provincial and Federal governments for accessibility and energy upgrades to the Kemble Arena, with a total project budget of $1.7 million.
