    On Thursday, June 1st, workers will be onsite for a culvert replacement on A-Line Bridge, West of Bruce Road 10 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

    Access will remain open to adjacent properties. Please slow down and drive with extra caution when workers are present.

    On Wednesday, May 31, workers will be onsite performing water main repairs on Balmy Beach Road north of Cottage Lane.

    Following recent reports of signs of black bears in the area, the Township is reminding residents that bears are a natural part of the environment of Georgian Bluffs, but there are things you can do to avoid an encounter.

    “Bears are all around us throughout the year, but are generally dormant in the winter months,” says Niall Lobley, Acting CAO/Director of Community Services with the Township.

  • Rail Trail Maintenance Notice

    The Township is working with South Bruce Peninsula ATV Club to complete grading on a section of the Georgian Bluffs Rail Trail near Benallen on Thursday, May 25. A portion of the trail will be closed while work is underway.

    Composting is one way you can help reduce the amount of household garbage that needs to be collected each week.

    Food scraps and organic materials can be added to compost piles and will rapidly biodegrade into a rich soil that can be used in your garden.

    Starting on Tuesday, May 23, StreetScan vehicles will be seen throughout Georgian Bluffs gathering data on the condition of the Township’s road network.

    Georgian Bluffs has partnered with StreetScan, a Montreal-based company that specializes in street assessments, on this project.

  • Join the FoodCycler Pilot Program - Help Reduce Organic Waste

    The Township of Georgian Bluffs is looking for residents to take part in an exciting pilot program to help divert food waste from landfill using FoodCycler indoor composting devices.

    The Township has partnered with Food Cycle Science to offer this innovative indoor composting technology to 100 residents at a discounted rate, which will allow them to compost food waste quickly and easily in their own homes.

    Council Appoints Niall Lobley as Acting CAO

    Council of the Township of Georgian Bluffs has appointed Director of Community Services Niall Lobley as Acting CAO as the search for a permanent Chief Administrative Officer continues.

    “I would like to thank Mr. Lobley for taking on this leadership role during our period of transition to keep the business of the Township on track,” said Mayor Sue Carleton.

  • Council Finalizes 2023 Budget, with a Focus on Infrastructure

    The Township of Georgian Bluffs Council has finalized the 2023 Budget and Business Plan, with a projected investment of over $20 million in services and infrastructure through a strong focus on partnerships.

    Notable projects in the coming year include Elm Street Reconstruction with South Bruce Peninsula, as well as park improvements at both Kilsyth and Sarawak Parks through grant partnerships.

  • Georgian Bluffs and Owen Sound to Partner on Leaf & Yard Waste Site

    The Township of Georgian Bluffs and City of Owen Sound are working together to offer use of the City’s Leaf and Yard Waste depot to Georgian Bluffs residents.

    The City’s Leaf and Yard Waste site on 28th Avenue East in Owen Sound provides a convenient location for residents to drop off their yard waste, including leaves, grass clippings, and small branches.
