    With melting snow and rain, we're experiencing water accumulation along our roads. Please be cautious of water next to the road, on the shoulder, and covering lanes. Hydroplaning is a possibilty, so drive slowly and with care.

    Please be patient as we wait for the waters to recede. Our operations crews are actively addressing the situation where possible. Thank you for your understanding!

    Notice: Spring Thaw and Road Condition Updates

    As temperatures rise and the snow begins to melt, Georgian Bluffs is preparing for the challenges of the spring thaw. The combination of a high snowpack and seasonal rainfall may lead to deteriorating road conditions and flooding risks, particularly in low-lying areas.

    The Township of Georgian Bluffs has declared a significant weather event due to forecasted and/or observed weather conditions.

  • Notice: Missed Waste Collection - Wednesday, March 5, 2025

    Waste Management were unable to complete all collection routes on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. 

    They will be recollecting missed areas on Friday, March 7, 2025. Please have your waste out by 7 a.m., and ensure it is properly tagged and easily visible.

    Managing the Spring Melt: Georgian Bluffs Prepares for Warmer Weather

    As spring weather approaches, Georgian Bluffs is preparing for potential challenges related to the melting snow. The high snowpack this season has resulted in drainage ditches and culverts becoming blocked in some areas, and if we experience rapid melting, particularly in combination with spring rainfall, localized flooding may occur.

  • Load restrictyions in Effect 5 tonnes per axle
    Weight Restrictions on Township Roads to Begin March 4th, 2025

    Weight restrictions of 5 tonne per axle will be implemented on Township roads in Georgian Bluffs starting Tuesday, March 4, 2025, for the spring season. These restrictions will remain in effect until May 1, 2025 or until conditions allow for the restrictions to be removed.

  • Missed Waste Collection - Monday 24th February

    Waste Management have advised us that they were unable to complete Mondays collection, which was collections for both Monday, and missed collections the week prior. 

    They are continuing the collection this week on Wednesday, 26th February and have confirmed they will be collecting both recycling and waste, and acknowledge that residents may have excess waste given that collections have been delayed for two weeks now. 

    We apologize for the inconvenience this causes. 

    The following areas were missed:

    • South Bass Lake Road 
    • Grey Road 17 heading south down to Concession 14
    • Big Rock Road
    • Francis Drive
    • Browns Lane
    • North side of Concession 21 from Sideroad 20 to Zion Church Road
    • Elm Street from Zion Church Road to Highway 6
    • Highway 6 from Elm Street to Grey Road 17
    • Thompson Sideroad from Elm Street to Grey Road 17
    • Grey Road 17 from Highway 6 to Centre Road
    • Mountain Lake Drive/Road
