The Inter Township Fire Department responded to a distress call on August 12, 2023, at Spirit Valley Trail in Bognor, Ontario, to rescue a dog that had fallen into a 25-foot well. The dog, named Nala, accidentally leapt over a fence surrounding the well at approximately 6:00 p.m., leaving her owners in a state of shock and concern.

Please be advised that due to a staffing issue on August 12, 2024, Waste Management was unable to complete the full pickup route in some areas of the Township.

If you reside on the following roads, please leave your waste out for collection today, August 13, as another collection attempt will be made:

Georgian Bluffs is excited to announce the upcoming installation of Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations at several locations across the Township. These stations will be situated in public spaces including the Shallow Lake Arena, Sarawak Family Park, and the Township Administrative Offices. Additional chargers will be installed at community centres and other public spaces over the coming months.

Please be advised that a small number of properties on Grey Road 1 between Wiarton and Zion Church Road had their waste collection missed on Monday, August 5.

The Bluffs is fortunate to be home to three beautiful waterfalls, Inglis Falls, Indian Falls and Jones Falls. These three flows are relatively close to each other, and your desired route may vary depending on where your adventure starts and finishes or any other stops you plan to make in between. The Township of Georgian Bluffs is pleased to announce that a columbarium has been installed at Oxenden Cemetery, providing more eternal resting spaces in our scenic and peaceful community.

Oxenden Cemetery, located in the village of Oxenden on Georgian Bay, is renowned for its beautiful views and tranquil atmosphere. This is the first columbarium to be installed at Oxenden Cemetery and introduces an alternative to in-ground cremation interments.

Thanks to enthusiastic community feedback, residents in residential zones can now keep up to six hens on properties larger than 0.2 hectares (0.5 acres). Sorry, roosters—this party is hens only!
