    The Township of Georgian Bluffs, in partnership with Cobble Beach, is thrilled to be hosting the inaugural ‘rEVolution Fair: Plug in to the Future,’ taking place on October 14th, 2023, at Cobble Beach Resort. This event, organized by the Climate Action Working Group, is a celebration of electric vehicles (EVs), and a community-focused effort to promote a more sustainable future by exploring the adoption of electric transportation and other technologies.

    The Township of Georgian Bluffs is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2023 Volunteer Recognition program, inviting nominations for exceptional individuals who dedicate their time and energy to making our community flourish. The program aims to honor and celebrate the following categories: The Georgian Bluffs Community Service Award, The Georgian Bluffs Lifetime Volunteer Award, and the Youth of the Year Award. Nominations will be accepted until October 12, 2023.

    The Township of Georgian Bluffs is commemorating National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by raising the Every Child Matters Flag throughout the month of September. National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as National Orange Shirt Day, is observed on September 30, 2023.

  • Have Your Say at the Official Plan Open House

    The Township of Georgian Bluffs is having an Open House to gather valuable community input for the comprehensive update of the Official Plan.

    The Official Plan is the Township’s roadmap for guiding future growth, development, and land use in the community over the next twenty-five years. The Open House is scheduled to take place on September 21, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Shallow Lake Community Centre located at 550 Princess St (Highway 6), Shallow Lake.

  • Every Second Counts – Yield for Firefighters with Green Flashing Lights

    The Township of Georgian Bluffs is dedicated to the safety and well-being of our community, and asks that all drivers yield to vehicles displaying green flashing lights – these are volunteer firefighters on-route to an emergency.

    Georgian Bluffs is proud to have a dedicated team of volunteer firefighters at the Inter Township Fire Department, who dedicate their time and expertise to protect and serve our community. When they respond to an emergency, time is of the essence, and every moment saved on the road can make a difference in the outcome. By pulling over and allowing firefighters to pass, you are playing a vital role in ensuring a swift and effective response to emergencies.

    What's the (s)Coop? Georgian Bluffs Seeks Your Take on Backyard Chickens

    The Township of Georgian Bluffs is inviting residents to join the 'egg-citing' conversation about the possibility of permitting backyard chickens in residential areas outside of Agricultural or Rural zones.

    Currently, the Township's By-Law restricts the keeping of livestock to lots in Agricultural or Rural zones with a minimum lot area of 0.8 hectares, and it does not allow livestock on residential lots.

  • Applications Now Open for 2024 Council Donations

    Georgian Bluffs’ Council invites local non-profit groups and community organizations to apply for the 2024 annual Grants and Donations process. This funding is allocated each year by Council to community groups and organizations that contribute to the vitality and wellbeing of the Township and our community.
