    Notice: Water on Roadways

    With melting snow and rain, we're experiencing water accumulation along our roads. Please be cautious of water next to the road, on the shoulder, and covering lanes. Hydroplaning is a possibilty, so drive slowly and with care.

    Please be patient as we wait for the waters to recede. Our operations crews are actively addressing the situation where possible. Thank you for your understanding!

    Notice: Spring Thaw and Road Condition Updates

    As temperatures rise and the snow begins to melt, Georgian Bluffs is preparing for the challenges of the spring thaw. The combination of a high snowpack and seasonal rainfall may lead to deteriorating road conditions and flooding risks, particularly in low-lying areas.

    The Township of Georgian Bluffs has declared a significant weather event due to forecasted and/or observed weather conditions.

    Safety Notice: Prevent Roof Collapse & Ice Dams – Clear Snow Safely

    This winter has brought significant snowfall, and with more on the way, it’s essential to clear excess snow and ice from your roof before it leads to damage or safety hazards. Heavy accumulation can cause ice dams, leaks, and even structural failure.

    To ensure safe and effective snow removal, consider the following guidelines:​

  • Significant Weather Event Ended

    The Significant Weather Event declared on February 7, 2025, has now ended. 

  • All Township Facilities Closed - February 18th

    With road closures in place across the region and staff unable to travel safely, Georgian Bluffs will be closing the Administrative Office and all facilities, including the Kemble, Kilsyth, and Shallow Lake arenas, for the remainder of the day. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are advising against all non-essential travel due to hazardous road conditions, blowing snow, and low visibility.

  • Facilities Closure - February 17th

    Township facilities are closed for the rest of the day, Monday, February 17th, due to weather conditions. Al programming at Shallow Lake Arena, including Minor Hockey, is cancelled for the rest of the day. Programming at Kilsyth and Kemble community centers is also cancelled for the rest of the day. 

  • Waste Pickup Cancellation - Monday February 17

    Update: (12:25 p.m., Monday, February 17) All missed collections will be completed on their next regularly scheduled collection date. Missed collections in North and South Keppel will occur on Monday, February 24th. Please return all refuse placed curbside indoors until your next regularly scheduled collection. 

    Waste Management have advised that they have had to cease collections on Monday February 17th due to worsening weather conditions, poor visibility and drifting snow.
