  • Proposed Official Plan Update Meeting Taking Place June 5

    The Township of Georgian Bluffs will hold a public meeting on June 5, 2024, at 5:00 PM in the Council Chambers to discuss proposed updates to the Official Plan. This meeting, held in accordance with Sections 17 and 26 of the Planning Act, provides an opportunity for the public to offer comments and feedback on the draft Official Plan.

    As the warm weather returns, residents and visitors of Georgian Bluffs are heading outdoors to enjoy the trails and take scenic drives throughout the Township. To ensure everyone’s safety, all road and trail users are reminded to follow the rules and be considerate of others.

  • Georgian Bluffs Celebrates Public Works Week

    Public Works Week, celebrated from May 19 to 25, 2024, recognizes and celebrates the important services our public works team provide each and everyday. In the Township of Georgian Bluffs our dedicated staff provide services including keeping roads safe to travel throughout the year, managing parks, public spaces and tree canopy and ensuring facilities are available for community use.

  • Road Work Notice – Gravel Application and Grading

    The Township is now applying maintenance gravel on select roads in Georgian Bluffs within the former Keppel Township. This essential maintenance work is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete.

  • Georgian Bluffs Bi-annual Report Highlights Recent Successes and Upcoming Projects

    At their meeting this evening, Georgian Bluffs Council was presented with the latest Bi-annual Report – a summary of the significant accomplishments from the second half of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024, along with an outlook on upcoming initiatives for the remainder of the year.

  • Georgian Bluffs Introduces 24/7 Short Term Accommodation Hotline

    The Township of Georgian Bluffs has launched a new 24/7 hotline dedicated to addressing issues related to Short-Term Accommodations (STAs) within the community. This service is set to begin on Friday, May 17 for the upcoming long weekend, aiming to enhance community safety and support good neighbour relationships.

  • City Approves Pilot to Share Building Services with Georgian Bluffs

    Owen Sound Council has given the green light to a pilot project fostering collaboration between the City of Owen Sound and the Township of Georgian Bluffs, enabling us to jointly manage Building Services. This partnership marks a proactive step toward enhancing efficiency and resource sharing between the municipalities.

  • Sidewalk Replacement to Begin in Shallow Lake

    Work to replace the sidewalks on 1st Street, 2nd Street, and Noble Street in Shallow Lake will begin on Monday, April 29, 2024.

    This project, being undertaken by C & G Concrete, is expected to be completed near the end of June, weather dependant. Construction will generally take place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays, with some weekend work as required.

  • Local Municipalities Appeal to Province for Help with Infrastructure Costs

    Yesterday morning, representatives from across Grey County attended a delegation at the Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) Conference in Toronto to make the case for additional funding for critical municipal infrastructure.
