Repair Café

Breathe new life into your belongings! The Georgian Bluffs Climate Action Team (GBCAT), driven by passionate local volunteers, has started a Repair Café, hosted at the Library in Owen Sound. This initiative is designed to extend the life of your items and keep them out of the landfill.

How It Works

Join us every second Saturday of the month from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Here’s what you need to know to participate:

  • Bring Your Items: Have items that are broken, damaged, or just need a little TLC? Bring them to the café!
  • Register on Arrival: Register when you arrive, and we will pair you with one of our skilled fixers—volunteers ready to help repair your items.
  • Bring the Manual: If your item has an instruction manual, please bring it along to assist our fixers.

Please Note: While our volunteers are skilled, some items may be beyond repair. We strive to fix as much as we can, but we appreciate your understanding if some challenges are too great.

Volunteer with Us

The Repair Café is all about community and collaboration. We rely on the generosity of volunteers to run our events. If you’re interested in helping others repair their items and prevent waste, join us! It’s a wonderful way to meet others who share your commitment to sustainability.
