Council Grants and Donations

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be a not-for-profit organization as defined by the Province of Ontario’s Lottery Licensing Policy Manual.
• Provide recreational or cultural services that the Township does not currently offer.

Applicants must explain how their services complement or enhance offerings in the Township.

Application Period

Applications are accepted from the first Tuesday of September to November 30th annually. Funds are distributed after the Township's annual budget is approved.

Subcommittee Review

A Donation Subcommittee evaluates all applications and makes recommendations to Council. The subcommittee consists of:

• One (1) Council member
• Two (2) public members

The subcommittee reviews applications in January and submits recommendations to Council in February.

Application Process

To apply:

1. Complete the Donation Request Application by November 30th.
2. Demonstrate efforts to secure additional funding beyond Township support.
3. Detail how the Township’s contribution will be acknowledged in promotional materials.

Funding Limits

The Township offers:

• Monetary donations: Up to $2,500 per application.
• In-kind donations: Use of Township facilities, resources, or materials.

Applications are assessed based on factors such as the number of residents served, the organisation’s past funding history, and the unique benefits of the proposed activity.

Reporting Requirements

Successful applicants must:

• Use the funding only for the approved purpose.
• Submit a follow-up report detailing how the funds were spent and the event/program's success.

Unused funds or cancellations must be reported immediately and may need to be returned.
