Significant Weather Event Ended

The Significant Weather Event has ended, and all roads have now been reopened.

Crews will continue widening roads and improving sightlines over the next several days.

Waste Collection Reminder: A make-up collection will take place Saturday, February 1, 2025 for:

  • Roads missed on Monday due to snow – See the full list here
  • Roads missed Wednesday:
    • Cavell Sideroad
    • Concession 14 (dead end off Church Sideroad)

Missed Waste Collection Update

Waste collection missed on Monday, January 27, due to the weather will be completed on Saturday, February 1.

Please ensure bins are placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. and are visible and clear of snowbanks or obstructions.

Significant Weather Event Declared

The Township of Georgian Bluffs has declared a significant weather event due to forecasted and/or observed weather conditions. The declaration is to notify the public that due to the current or forecasted conditions, caution is to be observed when travelling on roads maintained by the Township of Georgian Bluffs, and that it may take longer than usual to bring the condition of the roads back to a state of repair.

Please use caution and allow yourself extra time to reach your destination. The significant weather event remains in effect until the event is declared to be over.

Represent Georgian Bluffs at the Multi-Municipal Energy Working Group

Georgian Bluffs invites residents to bring their voices and perspectives to the Multi-Municipal Energy Working Group (MMEWG). Council is seeking applications from engaged community members to fill one (1) vacancy on this collaborative initiative.

The MMEWG unites representatives from municipalities across Grey-Bruce to address shared challenges and advocate for best practices in energy generation and storage.

Applicants must reside in or own property within the Township of Georgian Bluffs, and have internet access to participate in virtual meetings. Meetings are held bi-monthly on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. via Microsoft Teams.

This is an opportunity to actively contribute to the energy landscape in the region, gain experience in municipal advocacy, and make a meaningful difference in shaping the future of energy generation and storage.

Resumes can be submitted via email or dropped off in person at the Georgian Bluffs Administration Building: 177964 Grey Road 18, Owen Sound, ON N4K 5N5. The deadline to apply is Friday, February 7, 2025.
