Isaac Shouldice Appointed as Georgian Bluffs Councillor

At their meeting on December 7, 2022 Georgian Bluffs Council appointed Isaac Shouldice to the vacant Councillor seat.

The seat was left vacant when Councillor-elect Mike Smith resigned for health reasons prior to the inauguration ceremony. Council made the decision to appoint the candidate with the next highest number of votes rather than hold a by-election, as permitted by the Municipal Act. Isaac Shouldice was therefore appointed, having received 1,644 votes in the 2022 Municipal and School Board election.

“I am so thankful to be appointed to represent the people and township that I am so lucky to call home. I look forward to working with my fellow councillors and Township staff” said Mr. Shouldice.
