Georgian Bluffs’ Winter Sparkle & Skate Returns with Family Fun and Festivities!

Get ready to kick off the festive season with a Winter Sparkle & Skate event in the heart of Georgian Bluffs! On Friday, November 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the Township of Georgian Bluffs is set to illuminate the village with holiday cheer at the Shallow Lake Community Centre.

Join us as we illuminate not just one, but two majestic trees, creating a spectacle of lights that will brighten the area outside the arena building. The holiday lights display will begin at 6:30 p.m., ushering in the spirit of the holidays. Keep an eye out as well this year for festive lights in Kemble and Kilsyth as we light up Georgian Bluffs for the season.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, students from the Keppel-Sarawak Choir will perform seasonal songs, and the Shallow Lake Jr. Hockey team will be at the concession stand, serving refreshments to support the local skating club. Families are invited to lace up and enjoy a free skate on the arena ice, starting at 7:00 p.m.

And that’s not all – Santa Claus himself will make a special appearance! Join us for photos with Santa from 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

To get your holiday shopping started, visit the vendor fair showcasing local artisans and businesses. Enjoy family-friendly games, and check out the “Touch-a-Truck” display, where kids can explore some of the Township's trucks up close.

New and unwrapped toy donations will be collected for the Inter Township Fire Department’s annual toy drive, providing a chance for the community to support those in need this festive season.

There will be more ways to celebrate the festive season in Georgian Bluffs in early December! Check out the tree lighting at Cobble Beach on Saturday, December 7th with horse and buggy rides, pictures with Santa and a Christmas Artisan Market. On Sunday, December 8th Kemble will once again host the Non-Motorized Parade at 2 p.m., and you can head to Shallow Lake again on Monday, December 9th for the Jingle and Mingle at Allan’s Mercantile.
