Georgian Bluffs Rail Trail Maintenance

As part of its continuing spring maintenance program, the Township of Georgian Bluffs is once again working with South Bruce Peninsula ATV Club on the Georgian Bluffs Rail Trail. From Thursday, June 1st and Saturday June 3rd, teams will be applying dust suppressant to sections of the rail trail.

“We had hoped that mother nature would help us out in applying this year’s dust suppressant program,” said Zach Carson, Facilities Supervisor with the Township, “but there is no rain in the forecast and the application needs water to work, so we are grateful that the volunteers of the South Bruce ATV Club are able to help out with watering the trail!”

“We really are grateful to the volunteers of the South Bruce Peninsula ATV Club for their countless hours of support and help in looking after the Rail Trail. Applying dust suppressant helps to ensure that all users can make use of the trail alongside each other, and lessen any impact on neighbours of the trail,” said Niall Lobley, Acting CAO/Director of Community Services and Operations.

Staff at the Township do not anticipate any impact to users, though if you are on the trail this week and weekend you may come across teams of staff and volunteers working on the application. Please be cautious if you encounter machinery or workers, and follow any instructions or guidance they may offer.
