Georgian Bluffs Introduces 24/7 Short Term Accommodation Hotline

Short Term Accommodations

The Township of Georgian Bluffs has launched a new 24/7 hotline dedicated to addressing issues related to Short-Term Accommodations (STAs) within the community. This service is set to begin on Friday, May 17 for the upcoming long weekend, aiming to enhance community safety and support good neighbour relationships.

Recognizing the importance of providing a reliable point of contact for both STA property owners and neighbours, the hotline will allow the community to report any disturbances or complaints directly, 24 hours a day. The hotline can be reached at (226) 909-2060, and will serve as the first point of contact, where STA operators can manage tenant issues quickly and efficiently. Operators have been encouraged to provide their contact details to ensure they can be reached immediately should any problems arise. In instances where the STA operator cannot resolve an issue within an hour, the matter will escalate to the Township’s By-Law Enforcement services.

"Our community values the safety and well-being of residents and visitors," said Brittany Drury, Director of Corporate Services/Deputy CAO. "The introduction of this hotline is a step forward in ensuring that everyone enjoys their time in Georgian Bluffs, and that peace and security are maintained across our neighbourhoods."

STA operators are requested to update their contact information through the STA Operator Contact Form available at georgianbluffs.ca/STAContact. This will facilitate prompt communication and effective handling of any issues that may arise.

The Township encourages all community members to use the hotline at (226) 909-2060 if they encounter any issues with STAs, or report them online at georgianbluffs.ca/ContactGB. Additional staffing has been allocated to by-law enforcement to cover evenings, nights, and weekends, including holidays. We encourage anyone experiencing issues to reach out to the hotline or report online through Contact GB.
