Georgian Bluffs Bi-annual Report Highlights Recent Successes and Upcoming Projects

At their meeting this evening, Georgian Bluffs Council was presented with the latest Bi-annual Report – a summary of the significant accomplishments from the second half of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024, along with an outlook on upcoming initiatives for the remainder of the year.

The report celebrates significant successes across the Township, from the implementation of digital services such as Cloudpermit and EngageGB, to infrastructure projects such as the surface treatment program for roads, the completion of a new playground in Kilsyth, and accessibility improvements at Sarawak Family Park.

Furthermore, the Township saw its busiest ever season for ice rentals, and held new community events including the outdoor movie night and incredibly successful Sparkle and Skate, which were warmly received and well attended by the community.

"The Bi-Annual Report lets us celebrate our achievements and check how far we've come in meeting community priorities," said CAO Niall Lobley. "We have many important projects coming up, including our updated Strategic Plan. We're excited for another busy year as we continue to make Georgian Bluffs a wonderful place to live, work, and visit.”

Over the coming months, a continued focus on investing in improved digital services and prioritizing records management will support streamlined customer services. Work is nearing completion on sidewalk improvements in Shallow Lake, and road improvements to Francis Drive are well underway. The Official Plan and Community Improvement Plans are both nearing completion and are anticipated to be approved by Council over coming months.

This year will also see the development of a new Strategic Plan, highlighting what makes Georgian Bluffs an exceptional place to call home, and envisioning what the community will look like over the next 25 years. The strategic plan serves as a roadmap, detailing the Township’s goals, priorities, and strategies for addressing challenges and opportunities, ensuring resources align with the long-term vision.
