Dog Tags

Dog tags are an essential part of responsible pet ownership, and are required for all dog owners in Georgian Bluffs. Licensing your dog helps ensure a quick reunion if they are ever lost, keeps our records up-to-date, and supports effective animal control in the community.

Each year, Georgian Bluffs sends out renewal invoices to previous tag holders, but if you’re a new dog owner or have recently moved to the area, you can register your dog at any time.

Why Dog Tags are Important

Dog tags are more than just a legal requirement; they help identify your dog if they go missing, making it easier for animal control or neighbours to contact you. Additionally, licensing supports local efforts to keep Georgian Bluffs safe and welcoming for both people and pets.

Dog Tag Fees and Pricing

In accordance with Animal Control By-Law 79-2013, dog owners are required to license their dogs annually, with a maximum of three dogs per household (exceptions apply for Guide Dogs, Service Dogs, Working Dogs, and Hunting Dogs).

Note: The Early Bird Discount pricing ends on May 15 of each year. An additional $10.00 fee applies.

If paying online, a 3.50% administration fee will be added to the total for credit card payments. You may also pay in person at the Township office.

How to Register Your Dog

To register your dog, please fill out one of our online forms:

For Annual Renewal: Use this form if you have received your invoice and are renewing a tag from the previous year.
For New Registrations: Use this form if this is your first time registering your dog in Georgian Bluffs.
To Cancel: If your dog has been rehomed or passed away and you no longer need a dog tag, please let us know at finance@georgianbluffs.ca or by calling 519-376-2729.
