Georgian Bluffs provides water and services to residents in some areas, with convenient options for billing, payment, and maintenance support. Below, you’ll find everything you need to manage your account, from billing and leak detection tips to water quality information.

Water bills in Georgian Bluffs cover the costs of maintaining and delivering clean water to your home. To make payments easier, the Township offers e-billing and a pre-authorized payment plan.

How to Pay

We offer several convenient payment methods:

Pre-authorized Debit

Automatically deduct your water and sewer payments from your bank account each billing period. This free option helps you avoid missed payments and late fees.

Apply for Pre-Authorized Debit Payments

Online or Telephone Banking

Make payments through your bank’s online or telephone banking system. Schedule your payment 2–3 business days ahead to ensure it’s processed on time.

When adding Georgian Bluffs as a payee, please use your account number (found on your water bill) with four zeros added to the end. Do not include any dashes or spaces.

In Person

Visit the Municipal Office at 177964 Grey Road 18, Owen Sound during office hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to pay by cash, cheque, or debit card.

There is also an after-hours drop box for cheque payments located at the Township Office.

Note: A 1.25% penalty applies to late or missed payments. After two missed payments, your enrollment in the pre-authorized plan may be cancelled.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I transfer my water account into my tenant’s name?

The Township does not recommend transferring water accounts into a tenant’s name. Any unpaid water charges will be transferred to the property tax account twice a year—on June 30 and December 31.

Will my preauthorized debit plan transfer to my new address in the Township?

No, your preauthorized debit plan will not transfer to your new property. You will need to fill out a new application form for your new address.

How is my water bill calculated?

Water bills are issued every two months and are based on your property’s specific water system and individual consumption.

Water Systems: There are four water systems in the Township—East Linton, Oxenden, Shallow Lake, and Pottawatomi. Each system charges a base rate plus a consumption charge.
Example Calculation: If you use 10 cubic metres of water in a two-month period, and the 2024 consumption rate is $3.92 per cubic metre, your total consumption charge would be $39.20.
Base Rates: Base rates vary between the four systems but should remain consistent on each bill unless you move partway through a billing period.

For Cobble Beach residents, water bills also include sewage fees.
