Mayor and Council

The community elects Georgian Bluffs Council every four years to provide leadership, policy direction, and strategic guidance to the Township. Council is responsible for making decisions on services, programs, and initiatives that impact the community, including budgeting, infrastructure, and planning.


Council is composed of a Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and five Councillors who work together to represent the interests of residents and ensure the Township operates in a transparent, accountable, and effective manner.

Meetings are held regularly to discuss municipal business, and all decisions are made to enhance the quality of life in Georgian Bluffs.

Sue Carleton

Mayor Sue Carleton brings years of experience to her role, having previously served as a Councillor and Deputy Mayor. With deep roots in the community, she is focused on tackling important issues such as water systems, the Recreation and Trails Master Plan, and updating the Township’s Official Plan. Mayor Carleton is committed to collaboration, fiscal responsibility, and preserving the rich culture and history of Georgian Bluffs.

Grant Pringle

Deputy Mayor Grant Pringle is proud to serve the residents of Georgian Bluffs, bringing a unique perspective from his experiences in farming, corporate work, and self-employment. He is committed to moving the Township forward through proper development and responsible fiscal management.

Cathy Moore Coburn

Councillor Cathy Moore Coburn focuses on stewardship, accountability, and transparency. She is actively involved in initiatives like Climate Action Planning and the Recreation and Trails Master Plan. Councillor Moore Coburn represents Council on various committees, including the Committee of Adjustment and the Community Improvement Plan Steering Committee.

Tobin Day

With a background in natural science, education, and civic engagement, Councillor Tobin Day is passionate about protecting local ecosystems, supporting youth, and building strong communities. She draws inspiration from her father’s legacy in creating Bruce Peninsula National Park, and brings a global perspective to her work.

Isaac Shouldice

Isaac Shouldice is a sixth-generation beef cattle farmer and a registered nurse. Passionate about the outdoors, he values thoughtful stewardship of natural resources, believing that caring for the land ensures a sustainable future. Isaac is focused on sustainable development while fostering collaboration and community leadership.

Ryan Thompson

A Councillor since 2004, Ryan Thompson brings a wealth of experience to the role. Known for his evidence-based decision-making and collaborative approach, he is dedicated to representing all ratepayers and ensuring their voices are heard.

Councillor Rick Winters offers a wealth of expertise in civil engineering, construction, and municipal management. His priorities include fiscal responsibility, transparency, and fostering growth while maintaining open communication with residents.
