FoodCycler Indoor Composter

Did you know that up to 50% of household garbage is composed of food waste? By helping the Township address food waste, you are reducing your carbon footprint, filling fewer garbage bags, and supporting an environmental initiative in your community. Georgian Bluffs is partnering with Food Cycle Science  to help divert food waste from landfill using FoodCycler indoor composting devices.

In 2024, the Township will have 200 FoodCycler units available for sale at a discounted rate, allowing you to compost food waste quickly and easily in your own home.

How it Works

The FoodCycler is a countertop unit that heats and grinds food waste into a significantly smaller dry, odourless, nutrient-dense by-product. Not only does this help to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill, but the nutrient-rich compost can be used in gardens and houseplants.

By purchasing the FoodCycler at a reduced rate, you are confirming that you are willing to participate in a 12 week pilot where you will record your use of the composter by completing and then submitting a survey. After the survey has been completed, the Foodcycler is yours to keep. The Township will collect an email address when you purchase a unit, and may share this address with Food Cycle Science for the purposes of administering this survey.

FoodCyclers are now in stock!
